trivago Awards 2017: Best Hotels in the East of England Announced

Hotel search website trivago.co.uk have released the results of their annual trivago Awards, using over 175 million aggregated hotel reviews and semantic analysis to determine the best-rated hotels in regions across the UK. This year the best hotels have been awarded across eight different categories: 3-star, 4-star, 5-star, B&Bs, Value for Money, Breakfast, Guest Service and Guest Rooms.

By analysing reviews aggregated from different sources across the web, trivago aims to award hotels on a basis which is accurate, comprehensive and impartial. Johannes Thomas, Managing Director at trivago, comments “We aggregate and analyse more than 175 million hotel reviews from websites all over the world. This gives us strong insights into what hotels are particularly good at. Our trivago awards recognise those hoteliers who deliver an exceptional experience to their guests, and we are proud and delighted to award those achievements.”

The Andover House Hotel & Restaurant in Great Yarmouth, which was placed 17th in the East of England last year, is this year awarded the best 3-star hotel in the region, with a rating of 90.34.

Burlington Berties in Sheringham is the best 4-star hotel, with a rating of 91.55. The best 5-star hotel is awarded to The Grove in Watford, with a rating of 87.35.

The best accommodation in our alternative category goes to Fishergate, an aparthotel in Norwich with an aggregated rating of 94.44.

The White Lodge in Great Yarmouth, which was crowned #1 in the region last year, is this year awarded the best across an impressive three different categories: best value for money accommodation, best guest service and best guest rooms.

Finally, Holiday Inn Southend is awarded the best accommodation for breakfast, with a score of 78.75.

 

About the data
The data for the B&B, 3-star, 4-star and 5-star categories is taken from the trivago Rating Index (tRI), which aggregates over 175 million hotel reviews globally. An algorithm is used to produce a 100-point index score, which is updated daily to produce clear, transparent and unbiased results. The data for the Best Value, Breakfast, Service and Guest Room categories was taken from a semantic analysis, in which guests’ online reviews were analysed to identify which hotels scored highest in these categories. For the trivago Awards, hotels with sufficient availability and at least 20 reviews were considered.
